Using the Progress Indicators: Providers and employers should use these indicators to help inform their reviews of students' progress towards their learning goals throughout the placement. They provide a framework for assessing student development and identifying areas for improvement.
Regular Reviews: Progress should be reviewed regularly, with at least three formal reviews scheduled at the start, middle, and end of the placement. These reviews should involve the student, employer, and provider representative.
Documentation: Students should maintain a logbook to track their progress against these indicators and specific learning objectives. Employers and providers should provide feedback that references these indicators where appropriate.
These progress indicators establish clear standards for both technical skills and work-based behaviors that students must develop during their industry placement. They create a structured framework for assessing student growth, identifying improvement areas, and providing constructive feedback throughout the placement journey.
To complete the three mandatory progress reviews, click on the START, MIDTERM, and END tabs. These reviews should be conducted at the beginning, middle, and end of the placement period, respectively, and should involve both the student and employer. Each review helps track progress against learning objectives and ensures students receive timely feedback to support their development.
Students will be expected to demonstrate sufficient progress towards their learning goals through displaying the appropriate workplace behaviours throughout their placement
